Lorsque Sean et moi (Caroline Wardle, n\u00e9e Caro) nous sommes rencontr\u00e9s \u00e0 Johannesburg en 1993, nous avions tous les deux une passion pour le vin. Le grand-p\u00e8re de Sean \u00e9tait vigneron dans le Cap d\u2019Afrique du Sud et je partageais une maison avec un Ma\u00eetre du Vin. Nous voulions poursuivre notre r\u00eave de viticulture, alors nous avons d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 au Cap pour poursuivre nos carri\u00e8res au c\u0153ur des terres viticoles.<\/span>
\nPeu apr\u00e8s, nous avons eu l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de d\u00e9m\u00e9nager en Irlande. Avec des racines irlandaises, nous avons saut\u00e9 sur l\u2019occasion. Un an plus tard, lors de notre premier voyage de vin en France, nous \u00e9tions \u00e9pris. Huit ann\u00e9es de travail et d\u2019\u00e9pargne de plus et notre r\u00eave s\u2019est r\u00e9alis\u00e9.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=\u00a0\u00bb.vc_custom_1583573997622{padding-top: 20px !important;}\u00a0\u00bb][vc_column][vc_column_text css=\u00a0\u00bb.vc_custom_1677677639351{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}\u00a0\u00bb]Nous avons achet\u00e9 notre vignoble dans le sud-ouest de la France en 2005, suivant notre r\u00eave de cr\u00e9er de grands vins sur un terroir de qualit\u00e9. Aujourd\u2019hui, avec la sagesse de nombreuses ann\u00e9es de viticulture, nous c\u00e9l\u00e9brons non pas un r\u00eave brumeux, mais des ann\u00e9es de travail acharn\u00e9 et l\u2019inspiration de travailler avec la nature et de retrouver cette ferme dans la pleine sant\u00e9 et le go\u00fbt d\u2019un sol vivant et biodynamique. Dans notre entreprise risqu\u00e9e, nous avons ressenti beaucoup de choses : parfois de la peur, parfois de la douleur, mais surtout une grande joie et accomplissement. <\/span><\/p>\n

Nos racines irlandaises<\/h1>\n

Nous avons v\u00e9cu \u00e0 Dublin de 1997 \u00e0 2005 \u2013 lorsque nous avons d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 pour lancer Chateau Feely \u2013 et nos deux filles sont n\u00e9es \u00e0 Dublin. Les grands-parents de Sean, des deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s, \u00e9taient irlandais. Nous avons des racines profond\u00e9ment enracin\u00e9es dans le vin. Ses grands-parents cultivaient des vignes pr\u00e8s de Stellenbosch, dans le Cap-occidental sud-africain, apr\u00e8s avoir quitt\u00e9 l\u2019Irlande dans leur jeunesse \u2013 l\u2019une des unions catholique-protestantes qui fuirent l\u2019Irlande \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque. Sean a \u00e9t\u00e9 piqu\u00e9 tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t par le virus de la viticulture, les aidant \u00e0 la r\u00e9colte d\u00e8s son plus jeune \u00e2ge. Du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de Caro, sa grand-m\u00e8re \u00e9tait fran\u00e7aise, descendante de la tribu fran\u00e7aise qui a quitt\u00e9 la Normandie pour Galway pour importer du vin au XIIIe si\u00e8cle, donc j\u2019ai boucl\u00e9 la boucle.
