Frequently Asked Questions about the Vineyard Share

Why are there different options ?

There are share options for collecting from the property (the ‘classic’) but we found many of our shareholders flew since fly-drive was less time consuming and often cheaper than ferry-drive so we created the ‘delivered’ half-case Voyager option for European shareholders (although if you are driving and stocking up on wine the tax savings can pay for your trip).

How do I add shipping to the classic wine share?

Shipping to addresses in most countries in the EU is included in the Voyager vine share (unfortunately not the UK since Brexit) . Shipping isn’t included with the ‘classic’ share but it is possible to pay for shipping if you are unable to collect. For the latest info on shipping costs please visit our shipping page. Then if you wish to ship please contact us.

Can I personalise my wine labels with my name or my design?

The row has your name on it and we send a photo of the row and a personalised certificate, but we don’t customise labels.

When are the events ?

We run the harvest day event for shareholders mid to late September depending on the year. Shareholders can visit us and their row at any time (with a few days notice to make sure one of us is available). You are welcome to stay on in the area and organize activities like a wine class or visit to St Emilion with Caro to complement the day (full details of French Wine Adventures tours and classes). Tours and classes are available all year round.

Our Harvest weekend is usually mid to late September. Harvest Day is on the Saturday.

How much does the Harvest weekend cost ?

The harvest day is free for shareholders. The dinner price is listed above this FAQ in the ordering section. You can also book onto our other wine tours in the region like St Emilion to make the most of the trip.

Where do we stay?

There is great B&B accommodation in walking distance and a little further. The places we recommend to stay are (please tell them you came on our recommendation):

Our own self-catering holiday houses: the Gites at Chateau Feely

www.laqueyssie.com an easy walk from us or www.le1500.rocks in Saussignac.

What is the deadline for collecting our wine ?

Within the year of your vineshare. We cannot hold stock beyond this period for space and admin/ accounting reasons.

Do we get the wine that we have picked ?

No, you get the most recently bottled vintages. There is a lag at least 3 years for our red wines and its impractical to wait. Plus we don’t know if there will be a vintage every single year (extreme climate events can devastate the harvest). The good news is you may drink what you pick if you renew your share. Shareholders that have renewed each year are drinking vintages that they helped make.

Is it possible to choose white wine grapes (instead of red) for the vineyard share

Exceptionally, we can propose a white vine share if we have white wine available, but it adds 120 euro to the classic share and 60 euro to the Voyager share. Sometimes all our white wine is sold out and it is not possible. Please note you receive the most recently bottled vintages – see above.

Is there an option to visit the vineyard during key steps — such as harvest or bottling?

Yes, as you can see above you are invited to participate in the harvest day. We work with nature so there is no way to guarantee that there will be grapes. For example, when our crop was devastated by the terrible hailstorm in 2024 we had no grapes to pick. On that day we did something else – we planted trees – so our vineyard shareholders could still experience the vineyard. We cannot include clients in bottling but you can book yourself onto the Chateau Feely play winemaker day and create and bottle your own blend (red only). For those interested in getting to know wine in-depth –  we recommend the French Wine Adventures at Chateau Feely 3 day wine course . If you cant visit or wish to learn more before your visit consider booking onto the Chateau Feely Virtual Discovery Wine Course with to learn about the winegrowing and winemaking with videos and more.

Is it possible to extend the share for several years or scale the quantity?

You can buy as many shares as you wish – so increasing quantity of shares is absolutely possible – if you wish to buy 2 or more classic vine shares (24 bottles or more) for one individual, we offer a price reduction – please contact us for details. We don’t offer multi-year purchases but you are very welcome to renew when your vine share expires in order to keep your row.

Can I give the share to a couple ?

Absolutely – our shares can be for a couple. In fact many are given as wedding gifts. If it’s for a single person they can attend events with their partner as our invitations are for the shareholder and partner.

How far is Cherbourg or Le-havre from Saussignac ?

About 8 hours drive.
