Feely Harvest Day 2024 Tree Planting and Harvest Celebration followed by medical drama
Harvest day for Chateau Feely wine club Members and vineyard shareholders turned into a fabulous tree planting day followed by great fun with the harvest celebration at Melange in Saussignac.
Tree planting is a key part of our future plans for biodiversity at Chateau Feely. We have undertaken a number of tree planting projects already. You can join us and contribute to future tree planting at our tree planting page.
Next year is our 20th anniversary of chateau Feely so it’s going to be a big one! Join the club or get your vineyard share now to be part of the fun.
The Harvest Day Celebration was the start of a medical drama that ended with Caro having emergency surgery for a detached retina. Caro has limited eyesight until around mid November and she’s not allowed to lift things, bend down, drive or do anything physically active or requiring fine eyesight, balance or coordination. Until after this period of recovery there is no yoga, no dancing 🙁 , no reading, no television and limited screen time. Sean is double jobbing and discovering the joys of bureaucracy & admin (‘I’ve lost the will to live’) and Caro is learning patience and to use dictate on the PC. We love a challenge.
A selection of photos below. Thank you to everyone who participated! 🙂

We had a great time at the Harvest day and the evening meal. Superb event and it was lovely to see a few people who were there 10 years ago at the same time as us. It was also great to share this experience with our friends. Thank you Caro & Sean.

Oh I’m so sorry to hear this. My mom had a detached retina last year; it re detached two more times. However, she is back 100% now a year later! Driving again, doing yoga, all the things. It is really scary but you will come back too. Her vision will never be 100% again in that eye, but everything else is great. Just don’t push it…take care of yourself…and you will heal. Our bodies are marvelous things. Many hugs and wishes for the best healing…
Thanks Lisa – I so appreciate your message. That is really good news on your Mom’s recovery. Thank you!
