Frequently asked Questions (FAQ)
Where do your Tours, Classes and Experiences take place?
Most of our tours, classes and experiences take place at Chateau Feely, 326 Route du Pressoir, 24240 Saussignac. For full day tours we offer collection and drop off to the local station 5 mins away (see below).
The St Emilion tour starts and ends at St Emilion Station unless otherwise arranged.
Can we use public transport to get to your tours? Is there a Shuttle Service?
Yes! As an organic farm where sustainability and environment are primordial (we won the Gold Trophy for Wine Tourism for all of France in the category Education and Environmental Practices). We are conscious of CO2 emissions and we welcome guests travelling by train. For full day tours, multi day tours and for accommodation guests, we offer collection and drop off to the local SNCF train station in Gardonne, 5 mins drive from the vineyard.
Dietary Restrictions: What if I have dietary restrictions? Can I still participate in food and wine pairings?
We can cater to vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, lactose free and other food allergies but we must have at least 48 hours notice. Please let us know upon booking of any dietary restrictions.
Recommended Attire: Is there a dress code recommended for tastings?
There’s no dress code for our home tours at Chateau Feely but please wear closed shoes that are suitable for walking around in the vineyard (eg runners) for our half day and full day tours and for our walking tours.
For the one hour visit or for the Star pairing visit sandals or smart shoes are suitable.
If you are booking a half or full day for a group for a special occasion and want to dress up let us know and we can stick to the manicured paths that would be suitable for smarter shoes.
For St Emilion and Monbazillac tours smart casual is recommended (with suitable shoes for cobble stones and for walking vines). Even in summer please bring a jersey/pullover for the outings as cellars can be cool.
For walking tours – good walking shoes and comfortable clothes plus raingear and a small backpack for water and sunscreen are recommended. We do 5 to 12km per day on our walking tours.
Cancellation Policy – What is the cancellation policy?
For single day tours or events, cancellation at least 24 hours before the activity results in a refund of 50% of the total price paid. For cancellations less than 24 hours before the start of the tour and for ‘no shows’ there is no refund.
For multi-day tours or courses, a non-refundable 50% deposit is requested upon booking and then the non-refundable balance 4 weeks before the start of the tour. For cancellation within 4 weeks of the start of a multiday tour or course, there is no refund as committments will have been made for the tour.
Life can be messy and does not always go according to plan. We recommend that you have travel insurance. For our muti day tours and activities this is required, and your payment of the booking deposit is tacit agreement that you have travel insurance.
Mobility: Is the Chateau wheelchair accessible?
Our reception, tasting room, and guest restroom, are wheelchair accessible. Tours of the property can be adjusted to the needs of each guest.
Feely Wine Lodge Accommodation is wheelchair accessible and certified accessible by the Association of Handicap Accessibility in France.
Shipping – Can we ship wine after our visit and what is the cost to ship Feely Wines?
Please see our Shipping Reference Guide for prices and timelines. We ship all over the EU, and to the UK and the United States (except AK, HI, and UT).
Organic Certification – What does it mean for wine to be organic?
Feely vineyards and wines are certified organic as per EU regulations. This entails a yearly review of our practices, guarantees no use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides in the vineyards, and regulates use of sulfites and other additives in wines.
Chateau Feely makes wine with as little interference as possible, with practices that are safe for people and the environment. Our organic certification is just one way we showcase our ethos. Feely wines are handpicked and made with indigenous yeast and low sulfites, and are well within the biodynamic standards. Some are no sulfite added and within the vin méthode nature natural wine method standards.
Availability – When can tours and stays be booked?
Experiences and accommodations are offered all year round, based on availability, with the exception of a day of rest on Sunday for your beloved vignerons. 🙂
