Chateau Feely featured in C4’s a new life in the Sun! Yay!

Chateau Feely was featured in a Channel 4’s a new life in the sun last week thanks to local stars Jasmine and Andy who created a Vegan Bed and Breakfast The House Between Two Lakes 40 minutes away from us. Jasmine and Andy include Feely vegan Sensualite rosé wine in their welcome pack for clients to their new B&B and visited us for the two hour discovery tour that formed part of the show. We are grateful and delighted.

Feely wines are excited to be part of their adventure. Feely wines are vegan and have always been. Our own awakening to vegan cuisine thanks to friend and client Debbie Barazetti and her partner Jon who helped us create the vegan pairings for the chateau Feely wine pairing lunches that are part of our half day wine tour.

You may be wondering what is ‘vegan wine’. It is wine made without any animal products. Wines are often clarified with egg white or isinglass, a fish collagen so not all wine is vegetarian or vegan friendly. It is obligatory to note egg white on the label if it has been used as it is an allergen –  unless the wine has been analysed and no trace was found. If that’s the case then even if egg white was used it doesn’t need to be listed. Thus it is sometimes not easy to see if a wine is vegan or not.

Also for vegans its important to realise that a wine can be vegan but not organic and an organic wine can be not vegan.
