Description
: 4000 Number of bottles produced
: Clay and limestone. Northern exposure. The vines were 30 years old at vintage. Terroir
: 15 years Keeping
: Black fruit, blackcurrant leaf and mint aromas with freshness and minerality. The Resonance 2011 is atypical of Merlot. It is very slightly petillant. The petillance (fine bubbles) is nitrogen to protect it so it wouldn’t need as much SO2 (sulfites) added at bottling. It is easy to get rid of the petillance by opening, pouring out a half glass, then recorking and shaking it; releasing the gas and then recorking and so on – many times. The wine itself is reminiscent of a cool vintage Loire Valley cabernet Franc rather than Merlot, dark fruit, blackcurrant leaf, green pepper, and a hint of mint. Tasting notes
